*Description of the hunt: Points will be awarded for the difficulty of obtaining the trophy; therefore an accurate description of the hunt is necessary.  Factors that  need to be clarified must include the weapon used and whether the trophy was taken using bait, blinds, tracking, dogs, etc.  This is a very important part of the judging, so please be as thorough as possible.

Necessary additional submissions:

1. Trophy measurements: It is essential that all entries have authenticated official SCI measurements made by an SCI Official or Master Measurer.  Photocopies of the SCI measurement form are acceptable.  Measurements of their own trophy made by a candidate Professional Hunter without the SCI measurement form will not be accepted.

For LEOPARD, additional measurements not required by SCI should be included: body length (nose to tip of tail on the body) and, only if possible, accurate weight on a scale (no estimates).

Widest width on BUFFALO HORNS as per the old Rowland Ward system should be given in addition to the SCI measurements.

WHITE RHINO will be judged under the SCI system only.

ELEPHANT IVORY will be based on individual tusk weight.

Please scan and email the measurement form to prather@africanpha.org or mail to:

2. Trophy photographs: Please submit a field photo of the trophy.  You may submit it via an email attachment to prather@africanpha.org or you may mail a print to the above address.

For LION, judgment will include supplemental parameters not required on official SCI measurements. These include mane length and color as well as age.  In order to accurately judge the trophy, additional photographs that clearly show the lion's face, mane and body are required.

For LEOPARD, additional photographs that will help authenticate the supplemental measurements need to be included. This may involve the professional hunter holding the leopard in order to give a better idea of scale and body size.
