Hunting in Ethiopia is a truly unique experience. Hunts for mountain nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck and giant forest hog and leopard are conducted in mountainous highland forests. Elevations range between 7,000 and 11,000 feet and offer a challenging but rewarding experience for arguably Africa’s top trophy, the elusive mountain nyala. Nile buffalo are hunted in the Dati swamps. The Omo Valley, at an elevation of 1,500 feet, offers an array of East African plains game species hunted in the traditional African savannah hunting style. The jewel of the Omo Valley is the lesser kudu of which 15 entries rank in the top 20 of SCI’s most recent record book.
